BuyAutoParts.com has been in business for over 25 years.   We started out as a wholesale distributor of automotive products in 1988 and grew as an online retailer of auto parts.  Today we have 120 employees in our San Diego, CA headquarters.   Our traditional WD group continues to serve wholesale accounts, while our internet site is a popular destination for retail customers, car enthusiasts and mechanics. 

 

We are currently seeking a Product Analyst to join our Products team.  The Product Analyst will play a critical role in the company’s Products department, performing a variety of product management and cataloging functions.  He or she will perform competitive and pricing analysis, work with vendor-provided data to expand our product catalog, and collaborate with a Senior Product Manager on projects that drive category revenue and profitability in two or more product categories.  The Product Analyst may also be given the opportunity to take on a larger, decision-making role with some of the Company’s non-core product categories, with responsibilities including sourcing, vendor negotiation, and general product line strategy.  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are critical, as the position requires a significant amount of spreadsheet and data management.  The position also requires outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, as it involves not only daily inter- and intra-departmental collaboration, but also frequent interaction with the company’s vendors, both domestic and international.  The ideal candidate is someone capable of interpreting data to identify trends and opportunities for the business, who can also think critically to devise and implement strategies to capitalize on those opportunities.  

Qualifications:

* A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree

* Minimum of 1-3 years professional work experience (Product Management, Product Marketing or Merchandising, and/or Supply Chain Experience a Plus)

* Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

* Ability to understand and analyze large volumes of data

* Outstanding time management and interpersonal skills

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Sorting and Subtotaling, V-Lookups, Filtering, Pivot Tables)

* A passion for the automotive industry, cars or car parts a plus

 

Responsibilities

* Provide tactical and analytical support to a Senior Product Manager

* Market Research and Competitive Analysis

* Inventory and Pricing Analysis

* Product Database Updates and Corrections

* Daily interaction with Procurement, Logistics, Sales and Marketing Departments

* Projects as assigned by Senior Product Manager

 

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary depending on experience, ranging from $16 to $20 per hour.  We also have a generous benefits program including 3 weeks paid time off, paid holidays, full healthcare, flexible schedules, on site yoga, free drinks and snacks, and a great company culture.
